The hidden dungeons of Mountfitchet Castle

On the 8th March 2005 we had a geophysical study where we had a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) completed on sections of the castle grounds. GPR is a radar system used to look beneath the ground to look for anything unusual. It was below this spot where you are standing that possible vaulted dungeons or hidden voids were identified. In this location lots of shards of pottery have been found and a dagger. This is an area of high paranormal activity where over the years figures have been seen, in particular one figure stands out who has been seen over the years pacing up and down on top of this spot.
